Kathleen, Timothy, WeiYen

I see red =D

I like to mengada, cannot?!

I don't know what this is supposed to be =P

Poor Sethu's stuck in the wrong photo

Pretty

Cool... haha... we didn't have anything better to do aside from take photos

As above. hahah

I brought the bottle of late harvest chardonnay I got from Taupo =D it didn't match the cheesecake though... bleks!

David and Man Keat

This is me trying to take photo of everyone... i got 3 other people and david's hand. not bad i must say =)

Sushi for starters

Rare steak and salmon steak for dinner

Marilyn: I look so gewd! Thomas: omg...

Timothy mengada... but it is his camera haha!

The girls... the rest are in M'sia. Wei San was with her bf

Fat d lor... sigh... but at least you can see part of my boots =D and Timothy wasn't bad either

The other table: Tracy, Phyo, Me, Kath, Sethu, Karan (he lives in grafton too) and WeiYen

And this is me carrying on the ah lian numbers pose tradition =)

This is a very narcissistic post. mostly pictures of me. haha! it was a good formal dinner. we played 'ring of fire' (some people call it 'circle of death' here) after but everyone slinked off to their rooms after a while. I'm too lazy to write anything so it's just pictures. visual overload of red. haha

We all just had a formal dinner at grafton. took a whole load of pictures but don't have it just right now.

and free wine!

happy happy happy.

haven't been doing up the picture blog yet so that's in the pipeline.

other people should update more!

we all dressed up and everything for the formal dinner too which was nice =) haven't had a good sit down dinner with everyone at a posh-like thing for a while. and i miss expensive dinners.

Went down to the student job search centre this morning

got the referral for a job as a personal trainer

me, personal trainer. cool or not? haha. okay, maybe not. but the lady who's in charge won't call me or email me back which is really silly. even after 3 calls it's still going to her voicemail. how la to apply for job like that? the job description says health related degree student (i think medicine is related to health... =D) and hardworking (i'm quite hardworking, right?) and female (last time i checked)... and it pays between 12 and 14 bucks... hee hee hee... more money to spend!! hee hee hee (gleeful rubbing of hands) get paid to work out. good la.

it's almost time to go rotorua! we're getting the station wagons tomorrow and on wednesday we shall all pile into the cars and hopefully leave at 8... which is, at the moment, the stipulated time of departure. i hope getting 15 people strapped in nicely into the cars won't be too much of an ordeal. especially since it's 8 in the morning.

itinerary at the moment includes zorbing, sheep shearing, blackwater and whitewater rafting, polynesian spa, museum (haha!), horseback riding and sight seeing in between. big spenders will be doing everything. not so big spenders will be sight seeing more. =D i still haven't got all the people to finally decide on who wants to do what... sigh... as always, so i've gotta chase for the numbers to book. i feel so like a tour guide. wish you guys were here to join in the revelry.

update people! and funny story bran... =D eh, why isn't anyone bothering to guess the song?

lalalala..just to fend off some boredom..

Once upon a time in a land far far away, there was a farmer who went by the name of Ah Chong. Ah Chong was a rich and successful farmer, and he lived in wealth and gluttony. Sadly, he died of a Myocardial Infarction. Haha.

Anyway, Ah Chong left behind his beautiful widow, Ah Lian. The lovely Ah Lian could not bear to sell off her husband’s blood and sweat, so she decided that she would continue managing the farm. However, her experience in such matters was absolutely zilch. Ah Lian decided to put up an ad in the local newspaper requesting for experienced people to help her with the farm.

Ah Lian was disappointed when only two people answered her ad. The first was a lecherous drunkard who she kicked into her pond, and the second was gay boy Ah John. Basically, she had no other choice but to hire Ah John.

Weeks passed. Ah John proved to be wonderful choice. He worked hard day and night, and weekends too. The farm flourished, even surpassing the success that her late husband’s farm had attained. The crops were bountiful, and the animals were fat. Ah Lian was so ecstatic with Ah John’s performance that she decided to reward him.

‘Ah John, you’ve worked so hard for this farm, I believe that you truly deserve a reward. Go enjoy the night out!’

Ah John was overjoyed, and he left for town on a Saturday night.

It was 3am when Ah John finally came back. He saw Ah Lian lying on the couch by the furnace. She said to him softly,

‘Unbutton my shirt, and take it off’. With shaking hands and a pounding heart, Ah John obeyed.

‘Now, take off my heels’. He slowly took them off.

‘My stockings’. He obeyed.

‘Skirt’. Ditto.

‘Bra’.
Ah John was shaking.

‘Now, take off my underwear’
Ah John slid them down slowly, and then they were off.

Ah Lian looked at Ah John and said,

“Next time I catch you wearing my clothes again I’ll hang u on the fan by your ****. (#*$&(@#*$&@(*#’

say you're leaving on a 7.30 train

you've been giving me that line so many times it kinda feels like bad luck's good

that kind of loving drive's a man to the slam

that kind of loving sends a man right to his grave

what can i do, i feel like the colour blue...

you're packing up your stuff and talking like it's tough

and telling me it's time to go

but i know you're not wearing nothing underneath that overcoat

and it's all show

i didn't add the chorus and missed out a much of lines. haha. first one who gets it gets a little award in the sidebar for smartest little songbird... gosh i must be a little sideways... (just came back from shopping for make-up and perfume... and feeling guilty for shopping)

buzz buzz buzz

11:15 pm / Posted by Marilyn / comments (0)

(aiyo talking rubbish while high)

still boyfree!

i miss you guys... poppy, maison, zouk... gosh, all the good times.

buzz buzz buzz... white wine and good friends around. and all the time in the world to sleep in.

time for some shopping tomorrow. i got a cool matrix treachcoat for 34 bucks the other day. =)

enough reading for you hf? haha. how's northamptom or wherever you are.

will keep you guys updating as you can be sure. not bad i can still type without errors buzzed eh? alco marilyn. numbness setting in. haha. everyone should blog when they're hi. it makes for funny reads.

RACINE how are you? haven't heard from you for a while. my comp's still on the frizz. but i'll be online more often this time. and i'll probably blog one more time before i fall asleep tonight, using the community comp in the grafton comp room. haha. so sad ya? oh well. no comp me will still have to suffer until i get my harddisk fixed.

how are the rest?? i should get pictures up... hee hee... let's see... drink count for the night. 1 beer, a bunch of cointreau shots, lotsa white wine... still going okay. going to sleep soon though. shopping time tomorrow. and since things here close round 5 i'll have to be up earlier to get to some shopping.

From the land of sheep

9:46 pm / Posted by Marilyn / comments (0)

hello dear kecoh ppl! long time no fun! haha. missing you guys like nuts.

just having "a few drinks" with the bunch of them in the lounge downstairs in grafton.

(and i'm only updating for the sake of hf so that he'll have something to read. no books in northamptom meh?)

so i'm back from waikato (and what a run it was... can don't go hospital and no one cares. haha. can just wake up whatever time and still no one cares. haha. excellent time in a studio apartment with my own toilet and everything. HEAVEn indeed!)

a bunch of cointreau shots down the road and i'm quite happy and everyone's celebrating the end of runs and 2 weeks of holidays! we're planning a trip for the whole bunch who'll be in auckland (some of the m2s are going back for convo and khang hee and moush just going back because they can) to rotorua to go do some extreme sports stuff. hopefully people will be game for whitewater rafting and sledging or luging... that'll be a fun time. so look out for photos when i've got them up.

everything's been pretty good for the past 6 weeks. being in waikato (ulu land really... just one road with all the pubs and stuff... and we go to pub quiz alternate wednesdays to try and win a free bar tab by answering a bunch of general knowledge questions... who knows who danced in the seven veils?... all of us were like what the? and what's beside B on the keyboard? haha...)

oh ya, and there's a second hand bookstore too which is really cool... loves secondhand books... i've been looking for a secondhand book of fugitive pieces... eventhough it ain't a hard book to find new... just felt like looking for a secondhand one... but they didn't have it. haha. ah well...

yes i'm quite happy. blogging some more just for hf's sake. haha. see... trying to entertain you even though i'm all the way here. =P

it's nice here because every weekend we kinda make sure we have booze in our systems so unwind... alco me still keeping the mood for massive weekend fun parties =) aren't the people here just lucky to have me around =)

all this is just digital diarrhoea really. haha.

oh ya, i saw a marfan's patient the other day. not very much different from normal person la. just have mvp and prosthetic valve only... super loud la the mechanical click click. and he was damn tall. all the patients here very nice. can sit and berborak with them instead of taking history. haha. i like the old patients. they tell alot of funny stories. the fella this morning i took history from was telling me about his appendix removed story. he hardly has a scar even though it was done in like 1950 something when he was a seaman. so cool lah... get to spend time at sea and everything... again with the digital diarrhoea. haha.

what happened to the others? like no updates for quite a while also one.

people still know i'm from malaysia... which is good. i don't want to lose the accent. kiwi accent not that nice to adopt anyway. malaysia forever lah! hee hee.

life is good at the moment. boyfree for me and that's working well =) eh people UPDATE! i haven't read anything from you guys for a while either. pictures of tonight when i get them =)

alo alo

3:49 pm / Posted by Marilyn / comments (0)

so my comp's hard drive is on the fritz again... which means i have to get a new one. which will be the 2nd time i'm replacing the bloody thing. eesh... some more all my driver disks and windows disks are in kl... blalalala... no comp for me for a few more weeks until i can get those disks here... bleks indeed. and all my pictures and what not... ALL GONE!! =(((

in other more happifying news, a bunch of us went to a cocktail party yesterday... i was blur enough to not realize that cocktail party means cocktail dress and not cocktail drinks... so i didn't wear no cocktail dress. damn dumb right? me the ever bimbo just wore a denim miniskirt instead.

we all had a surprisingly good time at float (that's the club name) and someone tried to throw his phone up to me so i'd give him my number. the balcony to float overlooks a marina. i was thinking i should accidentally miss and hit the phone into the water instead. no, i didn't give him my number. i was thinking of taking his phone though. haha.

Weekends are good for unwinding with a cold Corona

1Corona 2Corona 3Corona MORE

All the IMUs who went to the cocktail party (so well organized in the picture some more =P)

This is Rahul. He likes to add Lah to every sentence when he's around us

Alana (everyone thinks she's really pretty... including me... i hadn't talked to her ever before last night), Lara (she's on the same run as me, wei yen and wei san... general med... or internal med for the sban ppl), ME, Wei Yen

Yuppers... comp-less me will have to continue suffering in Waikato. At least we're in studio apartments now... own toilet and shower, own tv, own little kitchnette and big double bed for one person. when i get to have my own place i want a studio apartment.

And apparently I'm the 'Funky IMU', because of the way I dress in lecture... *har?!* i hadn't realized anybody was taking note. pressure to dress funky! jeng jeng jeng. =P

and i'm slowly getting fat on grafton food!! OH NO!!!

Spiderman Review by your friendly neighbourhood blogger

8:03 am / Posted by lhf / comments (0)

WARNING- SPOILERS!!!!!!!

Tried to incorporate too many characters in the movie. Sandman? What a horrible role he had to take on. Didn’t have any kind of impact on the storyline, couldn’t steal a bit of money for his sick daughter, can’t even take a bath for that matter. Poor guy. Pee on him and he’s out for the count. Venom? Gets a new suit and a pair of shiny chompers but bang a few metal sticks together and he dies. And sigh sigh poor Jr Goblin. Gets beaten up by his best friend and when he tries to help out his ‘buddy’ who incidentally blew up half his face, gets stabbed twice though the chest and falls a couple of stories. Spiderman sees this but decides it more important to have a chat with Mr Sandman. So they have a warm fuzzy chat about his uncle, then listens patiently to sandman’s side of the story, sympathizes with him, thinks for a while................... and ‘oklah I forgive you.’ And when the Sandman leaves, is it time for Spidey to rush off to be by his dying best friends side? No…not quite yet. There’s still time to watch Sandman swish off a couple of blocks while smiling contently cause he’s so cool and he can forgive people like what his ama taught him.

Oklah a bit harsh…to be fair if it wasn’t for their ridiculously large budget and all the hype I would’ve rated it 6.5/10.

HF’s rating of Spidey- 5/10……..no wait…what about that British news reporter?!?! ‘uh…that’s so brutal…this might be the end of spiderman.’ As Kah Heng would say, ZHATOU… I genuinely believe any random chick you pick off the streets can act better than that.

Final rating- 4/10. Bo su cho can go watch lah…

Hey guys, its michelle here..u guys look great and coping well. anyway, just an update on me, been quite stressed out few few months back cos of various things, and was in obstetrics, so had no time to catch up with anyone..thankfully, did ok for obs exam and currently in psychiatry..I find psychiatry dry and erm just dry..and u can't stay in it too long cos u'll start psychoanalysing yourself! haha, but good thing is it's quite free la..

anyway, this is a belated belated thank you to those who wished me Happy Birthday! thanks, i m touched by those wishes and they were important to me that time..amelia who msged on time! Lina dear who called and we berborak and even had the time to bergossip somemore..
Have to give Gowri a shoutout for the card by snailmail! thank god she told me over msn cos we so rarely check the mailbox! almost got drenched in the rain..ah, but thanks Gowri dear! and of cos my dear friends in seremban who had a bday dinner with me... the cake was good :) and no worries, i know the watch accounts for the next few birthdays in the future haha.
pool party sem 2

we should probably start changing positions in pics eh?

oh then after the dinner, i had to rush for oncall in the labour room till 11 something..yea, thats o&g for u..well, i was happily telling a hypertensive mother having 3 in10 contractions that it was my bday and her baby is going to have the same bday as me! she gave me a weak smile and "sorry i'm not ecstatic bout it rite now" look..heh..she was chatty postpartum though..

hmm, then on obs exam day, i had patient with multiple problems..multiple..and because of tat, she was constantly pulled away from me during my 40 minutes for assessment and re assessment and she ended crying cos of those not so gentle VEs..and she's only 24..and indian so very low threshold for pain..neways, when examiner came in,all i had was a crying patient, her personal details, a brief list of her problems, antenatal checkups and erm no physical ex done..in obs, if u dunno details rite up to what she ate throughtout pregnancy, its a bad history, so needless to say, i thought i was dead! i decided to be honest, and at the risk of sounding "excuses excuses" i told Datuk Siva the truth, ihad 10 minutes with the patient, and no i did not make her cry..hehe, he is a great man and i've grown to admire him,i wish u overseas ppl have a chance to experience learning from some of the great docs we have here in Seremban, esp the datuks, Datuk Kew and all.. the passion they have for medicine is something so rare nowadays, and they may be strict to us, but when talk to patients rite, wah..damn gentle.heh, neways, he was understanding and tested me more on management which wasnt easy but i was grateful he didnt penalize on the history..oh gosh, talking too much..

well, the other thing is my mum finally after 10 years of tantrums and persuasion, brought me to watch PHANTOM OF THE OPERAAAAAA..hehe, all those years memorising the lyrics and songs..finally, up close and personal (3rd row from the stage), Phantom was practicaly screaming to my face haha..and the ochestra!omg, amazing, we went earlier so i could see them rehearse and all..too bad no cameras allowed..initially we had one extra ticket cos my younger sis had a Latin dance competition( which she got second, quite proud of her la, tat bimbo..hehe), so my mum was like u wanna bring your "friend"? *wink wink..i was like dont bother winking mummy, i'll try asking racine..haha, but due to unforeseen circumstances which involved faulty phone and younger brother, we brought my younger brother instead (he did his homework, memorising the story and all so(well my mum made him)..apparently his classmate Jason went for it and didnt like it at all, so Nick wasn't enthusiastic bout it, but after the show, he was like "tat was coool man,i wonder why Jason didnt like it"..hehe, so we all loved it, even though my mum and stepdad watched it several times before (the first time was during their honeymoon in Europe), but my stepdad was like "your mom still thinks the chandelier is gonna fall on the audience"and "your mom still cant get their names rite"..haha, mummy was quite clueless la

That's my mum and i , i forgot how beautiful she is...oh u mightbe wondering where me stepdad is, he's the one taking all the photos,i wanna "advertise" my stepdad a bit, he got us the tickets, drve us there, had to renew some sticker on the car(tats how knowledgable i am) at the customs,so someone had to run down and do it,my mum would have sent me as per usual, but he ran out to get it eventhough he was drivin'..

we were much earlier so mymum and i was like lets go shopping in the mean time!but couldnt find parking, well singapore on weekends la..of cos that didnt stop us!so poor guy had to drive around and come back and get us when showtime..then at the Esplanade, again, parking quite far, but he dropped us off first so we dont have to walk..basically everythin was done for us la..my mum always said "choose a guy who knows how to take care of u, the rest is not important" i know most guys would do that at the initial courtship but after 10 years++ of marriage..however i'm glad that i am able to quote some of my friends who have potential to be like that namely Bran (tats y can "fong sam" ling wei with u), Kah Heng, Ananth and a few others..

anyway,i'm actually studying for psych exam in 2 days time..so probably post something some other time..oh no wait, i forgot my lil' bro..his name is Nicholas Tan Leap Han and he enjoyed Phantom of the Opera.
